Hi Everyone,
Here are your assignments for this week:
Hugo
Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day
What to practice: Major Scales – C, G, D
How to practice it most effectively: Try the following “positions” on guitar for scales: Open position, 2nd position, 5th position. Also try playing scales on a single string.
Jack
Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day
What to practice: Gallipoli
How to practice it most effectively: There are 4 different sections to look at for this one, try one at a time at first, then try putting them together. Remember it’s the trumpet line you’re playing, starting at 0:32 on the recording.
How parents can support practice: Encourage Jack to continue picking up the guitar during the week and taking a look at his lesson materials.
Hythem
Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day
What to practice: We’re Not Gonna Take It
How to practice it most effectively: Take it one section at a time, aim to make it sound like the way you hear the song. Note that for the guitar riff at the end of the first line some of the notes are short, and some are long. These are indicated with either an “S” or an “L”.
How parents can support practice: Encourage Hythem to continue picking up the guitar for a few minutes a day and taking a look at his lesson materials.
Aria
Recommended minutes to practice: 10 min/day
What to practice: #5, & 7 in Hal Leonard Book
How to practice it most effectively: Practice with a metronome at 70 bpm (beats per minute). Try 1 bar loops, then 2 bar loops, and 4, etc.
How parents can support practice: Encourage Aria to continue picking up the guitar and taking a look at her lesson materials.
Have a good week everyone!
